Background

Samworth Brothers is a fourth generation family company employing over 9000 people in well-invested, modern sites the Midlands and South West. The business produces a wide range of quality chilled and ambient foods that are enjoyed by millions of people throughout the UK every day. As well as producing quality own-label products for many well-known retailers, their brands include Ginsters, Soreen, West Cornwall Pasty Co., Dickinson & Morris, Walker & son and SCI-MX. 

Challenge

Fresh healthy food is at the heart of Samworth Brothers and the needs of the consumer. They are constantly innovating to delight their customers and as such are looking for novel technologies to remove the need for the water-based decontamination process that is currently used on their produce.

Samworth Brothers are interested in hearing from you with ideas or technology that will reduce/remove microbiological and physical contaminants from produce whilst maintaining product integrity and quality, as it moves from a low risk environment into a high care processing facility.
