Borys Vorobyov, Ph.D. (Information technologies) has about 40 years of hands-on experience in entrepreneurial activities, business leadership and software development for mining, infrastructure, oil & gas, and spatial data processing. Holding the position of Lead Scientist for Kharkov National University in Ukraine Dr. Vorobyov managed numerous projects, including informational support and modelling for oil and gas exploration and gas processing plant control automation systems in West Siberia, and water reservoir design system in Crimea (Ukraine). After academic scholarship at Imperial College, London, UK, Borys and his team were engaged to the contract with Royal School of Mines (Imperial College, London) developing a unique processing engine for fractured seismic data of the region of Norway Sea. Borys moved to Canada in 1998. Working in Canada Borys held senior engineering leadership positions with Northwood Technologies and Marconi Corporation. Borys established three successful start-up software development companies, holding CTO and CEO positions. He co-founded Ambercore Inc. and served as CTO heading the development of LiDAR point cloud analytic solutions acquired by Autodesk. In 2011 he co-founded SightPower Inc.(www.sight-power.com), a company focused on digital transformation of mining industry, 3D visualization for mining, construction, BIM, and infrastructural projects. Borys served as CEO & CTO of SightPower Inc. from 2011 till 2017. In 2016 Borys co-founded the Arvizio Inc. (www.arvizio.io), the software development company focused on the development of innovative mixed and augmented reality enterprise systems and held there the CTO & Chief Scientist positions from 2017 till 2022. In 2022 Borys returned to SightPower Inc. where he currently holds the position of CEO and Chairman of the Board combining it with the position of Senior Advisor at Arvizio Inc. Borys is the co-author and author of a few books and numerous publications in scientific and engineering journals.
