Expertise
VREO have developed various imaging systems with specific expertise in cameras, optics and lighting system development. We are also experts in designing electronics including embedded processing systems and we are currently expanding our machine learning software development team. We also manufacture our own products.
We were the camera lead on a European H2020 project called VOSTARS which developed an augmented reality headset used in a world first operation; guiding the surgeon to make a surgical incision using AR. VOSTARS created a European wide consortium involving companies from France, Netherlands, UK and the University of Pisa, Italy and the Technical University of Munich, Germany.
We have sold our camera products to 19 countries to multinational companies such as Bosch and we have sold to NASA and have a camera on the international space station.
We currently sell our Automatic Number Plate Recognition camera the VREO Edge having sold over a 1000 to the UKs largest car park operator. This has machine learning embedded software and customized optics. We use the NVIDIA Jetson family of system on modules (SOMs). NVIDIA are the world leader in AI and machine learning chips.
We are also developing a custom camera system for a bore hole camera that needs to work 3km down into the earth at high temperatures. This is using a specialized camera sensor with a combination of traditional RGB pixels interspersed with IR pixels allowing a multispectral approach, which could be interesting from a leaf health perspective.
General engineering design experience and a history of developing commercially successful products I believe makes us an ideal candidate to develop an optical system that can be deployed in multiple ways either by airborne drone or land based robots for automation.
VREO is an established company started in 2015.
