My Research uses genomic approaches to improve productivity in fruit tree species and better control pest species in horticulture. This research has developed new ways to use attractants in the management of pest insects and new approaches to reduce the length of juvenility in tree breeding programs. Currently, I am leading two large multi-institutional (~12 institutions) research programs to develop genetic and breeding databases for horticultural tree crops in Australia and developing new plant cultivars resistance to problematic pests and diseases.
