I am a highly experienced board member and supporter of innovation. I have served on many boards, including as Chair. I am also the Founder of IdeaSpies, a public ideas platform. The private version, IdeaSpies Enterprise, was launched at Ashurst in Sydney as a simple, fun idea capture tool to encourage ideas from employees and B2B customers. It has been successfully trialled and used by KPMG in Australia. My interest in innovation started early in my career. I was in the startup team for American Express Cards in Australia and NZ as well as later in HK. I was also part of the team that established the first international property fund in Australia (Schroders International Property Fund) as well as one of the first wholesale property funds (Schroders Private Property Syndicate). My previous board positions include the Financial Reporting Council (Chair), Noni B (Chair), Good Beginnings (Chair), the External Reporting Board-NZ, GPT Funds Management, HSBC Bank Australia, Macquarie Goodman Group, the Foreign Investment Review Board, NSW Lotteries, Schroders Australia, Save the Children Australia, MS Australia and the Committee for Economic Development of Australia My career has also included positions as an executive coach, consultant, a compliance committee member for three major fund managers and chairman of a CEO syndicate. My executive experience focused on strategic marketing in the retail, property and financial industries. I was a Marketing Director for American Express Cards (Nth East Asia), Schroders Property, Citibank Cards (Australia) and David Jones. I am a Fellow of AICD and have an MBA from the AGSM, as well as an MA from the University of Sydney. I was awarded a Centenary Medal for services to Australian society through business and finance in 2003. .
