Expertise
I specialise in power system analysis, AC/DC network modelling, and inverter-based grid control, with a research portfolio focused on grid-forming and grid-supporting converters and hybrid energy storage architectures. These technologies are fundamental to unlocking greater grid hosting capacity, improving system stability, and accelerating the connection of renewable and distributed resources.
What makes my expertise distinctive is a systems-level approach that combines AI-driven optimisation, real-time control, and hardware-in-the-loop validation to bridge the gap between theoretical models and practical grid operation. My work integrates offshore, marine, and hybrid renewable systems into multi-energy networks, supported by batteries, synchronous condensers and hybrid storage systems for frequency, voltage and fault ride-through support.
In short, my research provides the intelligence and control frameworks that modern grids need to manage variability, ensure power quality, and shorten the time from connection request to stable operation.
