Graphene, Electrochemical Energy Generation & Storage

Expertise

I have extensive experience within the chemical and materials supply chain in sectors as diverse as polymers, coatings, fuel cell, redox flow batteries and most recently within the emerging graphene market. I was the Chief Technology Officer at 2-DTech Ltd involved in the successful development of a proprietary production method for graphene and other 2D materials. I was then responsible for leading the applications development of nanocomposite materials which have included graphene modified; PEEK (with Victrex), FDM ABS 3D printing filament and CFRP materials which were incorporated onto the 2016 Bronze medal winning skeleton sled of Dom Parsons (with Bromley Technology). Ultimately my work led to the 2016 Disruptor Of the Year award at the Cotswold Life EMI Awards. Most recently I have become involved with the Graphene Engineering Innovation Centre (GEIC) project at the University of Manchester. My role as an Applications Manager involves managing the energy storage facility which will exploit some of the amazing properties of graphene and 2D materials for advanced batteries.
