Mr. Walsh who is currentely Chief Executive Officer at Renetech AB has been working in the renewable energy sector for over 15 years and being involved in over 25 projects in the areas of bioenergy, waste to biofuel, hydro and solar, across the entire project cycle. Mr. Walsh has been involved as a consultant to develop bioenergy/ hydro/solar projects from a pre-feasibility phase to implementation in Ireland, Sweden, Rwanda, Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, Botswana, Ghana, South Africa, Senegal, Cote D’Ivoire, among others. Tom has a Bachelor of Commerce degree from University College, Dublin, Ireland. He is the CEO of Renetech www.renetech.net . Tom is currently developing innovative solar off-grid projects including battery storage for hospitals in Ghana with private sector technology partners. Together with the project owners, he provides technical and financial consultancy support. As part of the Swedish DemoEnvironment Program in Kenya, Renetech together with Swedish partners, is developing an innovative solar technical solution for institutional cooking for schools in rural Kenya. Tom has been involved as a consultant to develop hydro projects from a pre-feasibility phase to implementation in Rwanda, Kenya and Uganda. His involvement includes feasibility studies including site surveys, technology procurement, impact assessment and financing solutions. Tom has worked on the Development of an Innovation framework for cocoa waste in the Cote D’Ivoire to convert Agri-residues to Biofuel for a bus fleet in Abidjan. Tom has been working in renewable energy project development in East, West and Southern Africa for over fourteen years.
