Our client, a major multinational in the food and beverage sector, currently relies on manual labor to load bulk cases into trucks. These containers vary in size and often require loading up to 10 different SKUs—each with different case dimensions. The process typically takes 6–8 hours and involves 3–4 skilled operators.
However, the availability of such skilled labor is declining. To address this, the company is exploring automation technologies (e.g., cobots, flexible conveyors, human-robot collaboration) and digital tools (e.g., warehouse management systems, fleet management, AI-powered cameras and algorithms) to streamline and future-proof their operations.
Challenge
Our client is seeking innovative solutions to automate the process of loading bulk cases into trucks.
They are looking for solutions that can replace or significantly reduce manual loading through a combination of automation and digitalization. The aim is to improve distribution efficiency, reduce labor dependency, and increase operational resilience.
Solutions can be at any stage of development, from concept to market-ready.
