Challenge

CBRE is seeking innovative solutions to utilise electrical harmonic measurement to drive predictive maintenance and identify if equipment is failing.

Changes in harmonic content can indicate:

  • Worn bearings or unbalanced loads in motors
  • Insulation degradation
  • Loose electrical connections
  • Failing power electronics (IGBTs in VFDs, for instance)
  • Transformer saturation
  • Cable issues or grounding faults

These changes often manifest before a total failure making harmonics a valuable early warning sign.

CBRE are interested in solutions regarding harmonic measurement that cover any area of predictive maintenance and failure indication, not limited by the indicators above.

What's in it for you?

A successful collaboration could mean, for individuals, becoming part of the wider CBRE group. For organizations, it could mean forming a contractual relationship or joint venture to co-develop and launch the idea to market.

Successful applicants will be contacted post-review.
