Background
Deutsche Telekom is one of the world’s leading integrated telecommunication companies. It is aggressively ramping up its fiber‑to-the‑home (FTTH) rollout program in Germany, with the aim to pass 2.5 million homes a year over the next three years.
As part of its FTTH strategy, DT is looking to further enhance its offering to the German housing industry (Wohnungswirtschaft). The housing industry– apartments, condos – will play a key role in DT’s urban FTTH rollout, given it covers a total of 12.3 million homes.
An ever-expanding range of regulations, not least reducing the carbon footprint and energy efficiency of a building, as well as growing demand from tenants for improved responsiveness, has increased the need for greater digitization.
Challenge
DT is looking to extend its range of capabilities for the German housing industry, so that it’s able to better meet the needs of landlords and can support them to improve their NOC* (introducing solutions that help them to reduce the maintenance cost, increase the value per rented square meter while, and at the same time, support them to adhere to the regulations).
The aim is also to enable landlords to provide their tenants with an enhanced experience and more responsive services, including better reporting and risk management, and improved rental and marketing.
Deutsche Telekom is looking for innovators/experts that can provide platform solutions that enable the integration of different use cases (including from third party partners, to improve the experience for property managers and tenants in areas including and not limited to):
- Enhanced communication between tenants and landlord
- Digitization of floor plans and documents
- Billing
- Reporting of damage and maintenance requests
- Meeting scheduling
- Property surveillance & Improvement of housing services
*NOC= Net Operating Cost
