Challenge
Exxaro Resources Limited recognizes the impact of its scope 3 emissions, which are emissions that originate from our products and activities but are not under our direct control. These emissions encompass various areas, including but not limited to, the procurement of goods and services, upstream and downstream transportation and distribution, waste generated in operations, business travel, and the end-of-life treatment and processing of sold products such as the burning of coal for energy generation.
In an effort to mitigate our impact on the environment and contribute to a sustainable future, Exxaro is actively seeking innovative solutions to reduce our scope 3 emissions, particularly emissions resulting from the use of our sold product, coal, with primary focus on our product used for energy generation.
