Background
The Mandela Mining Precinct is a public-private collaboration between the Department of Science and Innovation (DSI) and the Minerals Council of South Africa. It is an initiative aimed at revitalising mining research, development, and innovation in South Africa to ensure the sustainability of the industry.
Challenge
Mandela Mining Precinct is interested in solutions surround Mine Traffic Management specifically relating to advanced analytics, L7,L8 & L9 CPS/PDS & automated traffic management, the solution should include data analysis capability to enhance traffic management.
Mine Traffic Management is considered integral to improve safety conditions and prevent injuries on site. Solutions will need to have the ability to analyse previous and current data as well as incorporate risk factors whilst on site such as:

- Mine access and mine access route(s)
