Dr. Alex Shenfield is an Associate Professor of Machine Learning at Sheffield Hallam University with 20 years experience in applying machine learning algorithms to solve real-world problems in industries as diverse as Healthcare, Security, Food, and Aerospace. He leads the Applied Artificial Intelligence research group at SHU and is Research Theme Lead for Digital Connectivity and Technology at the world-leading National Centre for Excellence in Food Engineering (NCEFE) at Sheffield Hallam University Dr. Shenfield has published over 30 internationally peer-reviewed journal and conference papers in the fields of AI, intelligent systems, control, and pattern recognition. He also sits on the international technical programme committee for several IEEE conferences and is a reviewer and guest editor for high impact international journals.
