I have more than 10 years experiene in Life Cycle Assessment and Environmental Impact Assessment (including carbon and water footprint calculations). I have participated (both as PI and a Co-I) in many EU funded and UKRI funded research projects, focusing on different aspects of sustainability assessment (from challenges in water footprint calculations to dynamic LCA calculations and assesssment of novel products and processes), always working closely with the industrial partners involved. I have used both commercial software (GaBi, SimaPRO) and custom-made tools, developed for each case separately, which allowed me to better understand the basics/mechanics of LCA. My current research focuses on (a) (near) real time life cycle assessment, (b) impact assessment of symbiotic schemes and (c) overall sustainaiblity impact assessessment of a product/process (including life cycle costing and social LCA).
