The Centre for Design Innovation (CDI) provides access to a strong client-focused research capability that responds to increasing market and community demand for strategic and transformative design and development. CDI builds upon existing research strengths at Swinburne University of Technology: linking experienced research professionals with industries and communities to enable human-scale, user-focused, design-led innovation. This approach fosters the opportunity for deep and effective design innovation research, enabling postgraduates to transform often deviously complex problems into valued design innovations that have commercial and humanitarian benefits. The Industrial Design component of CDI was established to research, design and engineer new product ideas for industry partners. By delivering world-class innovations in product and user experience we have managed to help secure commercial success for many of our clients.
