As part of our goal to be a global leader in well-being snacks, we are always looking for new technologies that allow us to improve the nutrition and ingredient profile of our products. We believe that there are ingredient opportunities to be unlocked from nature’s pure, potent and raw goodness that can give maximum taste and health value.

- High quality nutritional value and properties
- Consumer recognized label
- Consumer acceptable color, taste and texture
- Preference will be for commercially available / ready to deploy solutions
- Ingredient solutions to help MDLZ achieve our sustainability goals, such as Net Zero carbon by 2050 (see: Snacking Made Right Report 2023)
Possible Approaches
- New processing technologies that can maintain the integrity of fruit and vegetable (nutritional value & color)
- Fruit or vegetable fillings with real fruit or vegetable pieces,
- Dried/ ambient stable fruit or vegetables, purees, pieces or powders
- Neutral flavoured legume sources
- Unique grain processing technologies (example puffed, sprouted, extruded, grits, crisps)
- Upcycled ingredients
- Ingredients that are more sustainable than their traditional counterparts
What We Aren't Interested In
- Genetically modified ingredients
- E-numbers
What's in it for you?
These are global challenges and MDLZ is willing to collaborate with both individuals/freelancers and other industry participants/universities etc. At this stage, we would prefer ready or close to commercialize solutions, but early development could be discussed with a potential partner.
